Story

We are completing 'Walk the Wight Our Way' to help make sure that, even during this challenging time, the most vulnerable in our community are cared for when they need it the most. Its only with our help that Mountbatten can continue the amazing work they do. Henry and I are walking the Wight our way and hoping to raise £150 for our amazing Hospice. I have always wanted to walk the Wight but until recently didn’t feel like I was fit enough to walk 26.5 miles! We are using our daily exercise time to keep fit and raise money for our Hospice. I also have a treadmill at home to top up my daily miles and Henry will play fetch in the garden to top his up (he’s always happy to play fetch the ball) Sadly six years ago I lost my amazing Sister-in-law to Cancer, it was the saddest time for our family but the Earl Mountbatten Hospice were a constant support and the facilities and staff were incredible. Denise was looked after with the dignity, care and love that she deserved which helped her and us through the darkest days. I have supported the Hospice through my Company payroll giving scheme for many years and always encouraged friends and family to ask me for donations when they have walked the Wight over the years. Henry and I will be grateful for any support you can give us and all donations will be gratefully received. We will take photos on our walks to keep you updated with our progress. Thank you for reading our story and helping us reach our goal. Lots of love, Kerry and Henry Poo xxx
