Story
Hiya! I told you all 2026 would be my FUNDRAISING YEAR so I'm kicking things off with 10k steps a day in February to raise money for Brain Tumour Research.
As many of you know, I was diagnosed with an incurable brain tumour - a Stage 2 Oligodendroglioma - in June 2024. After surgery, radiotherapy and chemo there is now roughly 40% of said tumour left in my noggin, so my job is to keep myself as healthy as possible to ensure it doesn't wake up and start growing again.
Walking is one of my favourite forms of exercise - alongside weightlifting (shout to Nikki and the Empower ladies!) - and if I can combine said exercise with a fundraiser then even better. I'll be walking with Marvin to keep me company (and anybody else who cares to join me!) so he'll get plenty of exercise in too!
Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer and just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this disease (!). Brain Tumour Research are a leading voice calling for support and action for research into what is called the last battleground against cancer.
Thanks in advance for supporting. You never know, maybe this money will go towards making my currently incurable tumour, curable!
