Life Cycle 6 · 25 August 2016

Our life-changing research can fight diseases, tackle global challenges and change society. At Nottingham, students from all backgrounds can achieve extraordinary things, in and out of the classroom. But talent needs a catalyst. You can shape the future and help make the incredible happen, every day

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my personal JustGiving page, which aims to raise at least £5500 for groundbreaking breast cancer research and treatment. I'm joining the University of Nottingham's Lifecycle 6 team and our overall target is to raise £1,000,000 to enable the University to do three things:

- detect cancer early
- stop cancer from spreading and
develop personalised treatments for cancer sufferers.

Nottingham is home to the world’s first blood test to detect lung cancer and the research platform is now ready to target breast and other solid cancers. With our Breast Cancer Research Team of the Year in place, we are ready to make a genuine difference in combating this disease and developing effective treatment for cancer sufferers.

I will be joining the team on 25 August to cycle 800 miles. This is a special date for me - it will be 11 years to the day since my mastectomy.

I want to help others beat cancer and live healthy, happy lives.

Please sponsor me as much as you can afford.
