Story

Updates (I'm going to stick these at the top):

29/09/09 - DONE!!! completed the race on saturday, in a time of 2h43'53''. Obviously an abysmal time, but after the knee injury i was only thinking i could run a couple miles at most. I ended up running at least 8 of the miles and I'm actually really pleased with the time all things considered. That sunday afternoon was the sorest I've ever felt in my life with no exaggeration! Next time more training and I'll knock a good hour off that time. Thanks for everybodys support! I'll still be collecting for the next month or so, so if you've still to make your donation there's still time, lucky you! Kevin

Hello. So, after having never run more than 2 consecutive miles in my life, I'm going to be doing 13. Great idea kevin...! I'll be running in the 'Run to the beat' half-marathon taking place in greenwich on the 27th September. (One hopes that after this I will progress to the more manly full-marathon - but don't hold your breath!)

I'm running for Orchid, who are making a real difference helping to save lives by supporting research and raising awareness for male cancer. I'm sure we all know someone personally who has been affected by cancer, it has such a big impact on so many peoples lives. I'm not going to go into any sob stories but I feel this a really worthy cause. Please please give anything you can afford to, I'll be so so grateful. Thank you!

As an extra incentive, if the target is reached I will wear an item of ridiculous clothing during the run at donators suggestion!! Give me your ideas :)

And the usual blurb that JustGiving suggest adding:

"Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity."
