Story
I'm Kevin Lau, a patient at University College London Hospital's Red Cell Unit, a leading national unit for investigating anaemias (both transfusion dependent and transfusion independent).
And this year, Haematology and Cancer Care, a UCLH Charity, has kindly chosen me to fundraise for them at the upcoming London Marathon in October 2022.
It's a privilege to run for Haematology and Cancer Care and fundraise for a charity!
Over the next few months, I'll be training heavily for the marathon (and a whole bunch of other events). In the meantime, please consider donating to my JustGiving page!
Would you be technically donating something that I'll directly benefit? Probably, as you'll be helping Europe's largest treatment centre and supporting the funding of new technologies that the NHS would otherwise not have procured. But importantly, supporting the staff and patients in providing quality care.
A donation of your next McDonald's medium meal (£5.09) would make a huge difference to both me and haematology and cancer care at UCLH!
To make it extra challenging for me, I'll also be taking part in several more events taking place in 2022:
- Etape Caledonia (85 M) – Sunday 15th of May
- Ride London (100 M) – Sunday 29th of May
- Superhero in the City Run (5 km) – Wednesday 6th of July
- ASICS London (10 km) – Sunday 10th of July
- London Triathlon (Sprint) – Saturday 6th of August
- Swim Serpentine (2 M) – Saturday 17th of September
- London Marathon (26.2 M) – Sunday 2nd of October <- the big one!
- Oxford Half (13.1 M) – Sunday 16th of October
