Story

*skydive 8th July

After suffering from mental illness for most of my life it finally consumed me and took over everything. I lost my home, my partner and my job and became a part time dad in the process.
At very difficult times turning to self harm, alcoholism and suicide.
I've controlled my drinking but the depression/bi polar and anxiety still shackle me! And I feel like I've been let down like so many others by the government and and the health service for not having the facilities, the staff, resources, proper training and understanding of individuals rather than a collective. the health service throw drugs and tell you what you should based on what a so called manual says, I believe that individuals need tailored treatment because no brain is the same! It's not a broken leg you're treating it's a broken mind and there isn't a one size fits all treatment.

The services are limited and hard to gain access too, I think this is wrong. I also think there isn't enough attention, via news outlets, social media, tv/radio services because of the stigma and lack of understanding! I think this ignorance can be changed and the services can be changed too.

I want to raise money for services that deserve more recognition and who literally saved my life...twice! And so many others too. I've been through hell and back, on the edge, still not back but now I feel I can make a difference. Turning negative to positive. I shall be volunteering for both Samaritans n Mind in any way possible.

And I have a Skydive on 8th July! It's very close to my heart, services like this have made sure my children still have a dad they'll never know how grateful they should be! But I can tell you now, they thank you from the bottom of their hearts!

Now let's do some good and raise awareness and money along the way to help stop the stigma!
We need to talk and allow others to talk so we can help!
