Story
Ok, first things first. I will be paying for the cost of the trip, so all additional money I raise goes direct to my chosen charity - please be as generous as you can (it's not paying for an adventure holiday)!
Who
There are six of us climbing, each for our own charity but all with the same goal !
What
An eleven day trek to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro (5898m). For a middle aged desk bound office worker this ain't a walk in the park (although technically it is in Tanzania's National Park) :-). At this point, I need to point out it's an attempt to climb Kilimanjaro!
When
Setting off on 4th September 2014, so a few months to get the training under my belt and pester as many people I know to sponsor me.
Why
I thought it was about time I got out from behind my desk and did something adventurous in life. Combined with an inspirational talk given by Colonel Stuart Tootal last year, detailing the fantastic work the charity does, the trip was born. There must be a mid life crisis in there somewhere also.
