Story
Dear All
Having taken part in five consecutive London Marathons, I have now decided that it is time for a change, individual marathons are now in the past and I feel that age is catching up with me.
Not feeling younger has actually enabled me to take stock of my capabilities and ability to manage a complete marathon. Having thought long and hard, I have decided that I must not compete in just the London Marathon any more.
Instead I have decided that the time is right to change the momentum and attempt to run two marathons in the space of a week. Therefore I have secured a place in the Brighton Marathon on 10 April and the London Marathon on 17 April. I too do not believe that I will be able to complete both in the time scale, but, I can only try my best.
Obviously, I am also going to raise as much money as possible for charity and again this year I am sponsoring a small UK based charity called “Find Your Feet” (FYF). FYF makes a big difference to some of the world's poorest communities by helping them secure basic human rights - the right to food, clean water and a livelihood. Its programmes are based in India and Malawi. They are working together with over 31,000 poor and marginalised families living in rural India and Malawi to improve their harvests, set up small businesses and access to services like clean water, healthcare and education.
I would be greatful for your kind donations, whatever the amount, and together, i am sure that we can go a long way towards achieving my targets.
May I thak you in advance in anticipation of your kind support both in my fundraising efforts and on the day.
Kind regards
Kiran Patel
