At school I was always picked last in PE because I’m naturally bad at sport. Running a marathon would be a terrible idea if it wasn’t for the fact I’m raising money for Transaid.

Walking long distances to health facilities in labour is how women from remote regions of Zambia, Nigeria and Uganda have been accessing medical attention from trained professionals. Thanks to programmes like Transaid’s Emergency Transport Scheme, more mothers reach these facilities, and more babies stay alive.

Suddenly my (first and last) Marathon doesn’t seem so far. Although still quite far. All money raised will go directly to Transaid.
