On the 16th June 2018 I will be shaving my hair off to raise money for a fantastic charity.

15 years ago I received a life saving blood transfusion following the birth of my second child.  At that time Blood Bikes Wales didn't exist and the service relied on the police and ambulance service to transport life saving blood products to the hospital.  

Blood Bikes Wales is a charity that now fills that gap voluntarily and in turn helps to save the NHS money through running the out of hours service on donations that are received from the public.  Having worked within Bronglais Hospital as part of the Pathology team, I have seen first hand, the tireless work that Blood Bikes Wales volunteers do to save lives, ensuring that essential blood products, components and other life saving items are delivered between hospitals as quickly as possible.
