The CFT is a Children’s Charity & Independent Fostering Agency. Established in 1945, we have looked after many children & young people from diverse backgrounds with all sorts of needs within our dedicated and committed foster families. Our aim is to provide the highest quality care we possibly can.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I have decided to hack off 8/9 inches of my hair to raise money for The Children's Family Trust, and I will also be donating the hair to Little Princesses wig charity. Little Princesses utilises the hair to make wigs for children with cancer as real hair wigs are incredibly expensive.

With regard to The Children's Family Trust (CFT), as some of you may know my parents are foster carers. The CFT is a private foster agency that focuses on the idea of "a family for life". We have a young boy who has been in our family for over 3 years and will be supported by the CFT and my family in to adulthood.

Children in foster care have often suffered from a range of physical, emotional and sexual abuse, and the support provided by the CFT to both these children and the foster families is invaluable. Whilst children from these circumstances often present challenges throughout their lives it is important to feel part of a stable and secure family which is the ethos that underpins the CFT and the work they do.

Obviously this is very personal to me and any donation is much appreciated. This will allow them to continue with the great work they already do.

Down to the event -

I will be plaiting my hair in 4 plaits, £50 and you get to hack one off in the office at lunchtime

I will then leave the shoddy "hair cut" for 24 hours of shame before heading to the hairdressers to hopefully salvage some sort of questionable do.
