In 2016 I was diagnosed with a 3cm Cavernoma (tumour) of the brain and more specifically on my left temporal lobe, an area responsible for comprehension, speech, recognition of words, personality and many more important skills. 

Living with a Cavernoma is like living with a ticking time
bomb. They can bleed at any time, causing full or partial paralysis, complete loss of communication/comprehension, stroke and death. Currently there is no treatment other than high risk Brain surgery, which is considered only as a last resort. Although many aren't even able to consider this option due to size, position and many other contributing factors.

Being diagnosed with a Cavernoma led to meeting many people suffering from this condition. The affects are truly devastating and very sad to witness. We need to understand more about this condition and your donations to the Cavernoma Alliance are greatly appreciated.
