We raise funds to build pre-schools to educate in deprived areas of the world

Story

We're trying to raise £ 1000 to provide a Christmas lunch to 1,000 orphan children from the slums in Kosovo, Kampala.

As many of you know, we’ve just returned from opening our
third and fourth nursery schools in Uganda. It was amazing to see all the children and their joy at having somewhere to learn.

On the last day, however, we went to visit a primary and nursery school in the slums of Kampala (capital of Uganda) called Kosovo.

Having experienced lots of happiness from all the children
at our nurseries, this was very different.

The slums are beyond shocking. There is raw sewage and
rotting vegetation running through the narrow mud streets, with swarms of mosquitos and flies openly feeding off the rubbish.

There is no power, no water and  no washing or toilet facilities. It’s
beyond your worst nightmares. The local residents live in tiny wood shacks, which about 10ft by 10ft.

And it’s these local residents who need our help, because nearly all of them are children.

Most are orphans. Either because their parents have died
from AIDS or because they have been killed in the wars in the Congo, or the Sudan. These are then refugee children, as well as being orphans. There are whole families of young children being raised by a single pre-teen sister or brother, and others who are just on their own. I don’t know which is more terrifying.

And in the middle of this hellhole is one guy trying to
bring hope and order to the community. His name is Pastor Deo. Now, Deo is a rogue, but a lovable and honourable man. We’ve met him several times before and we’re always amazed at how much he cares about these children. You don’t get to meet many people like Deo in life!

He runs a church and a school in Kosovo. They’re in the same
building, but it gives the community a place to meet, pray and learn.

He wants to provide a Christmas party for all these
children, just over 1,000 of them on Christmas day, but he can’t afford it. It would cost £1,000 and that’s a huge amount in Uganda!

So, what can we do to help them?  Parenta Trust can’t allow
these children to have nothing at Christmas. They have nothing except the clothes on their backs.

Please can I ask you to help us raise this money? I can vouch for the fact it will get put to good use, and properly invested.

Many thanks in advance for any help you can offer. I really appreciate it.
