I've always admired the work the Fire Service do, even on the day they cut my brother from his car, I was amazed at how they were able to give someone their life back, when it could have so easily been taken away, or at least, very different.
Having played rugby for over 20 years with several fireman from across the UK, I've always been struck by a common personality trait which runs through them - they are humble. To them, the work they do is their job, its what they are trained to do, often changing the course of a person future in a split second, seeing those in fear or pain and providing comfort and expertise when its needed most.
The Fire Fighters Charity is a brilliant organisation who provide emotional and physical support to those individuals who are often called to scenes of pain, or terror or loss, and have to walk away knowing they will have to do it all again tomorrow.
I couldn't think of a better way to thank those true heroes who were there to help my brother escape his own terrifying moment, than to support the charity whom will take care of them.
Please please give generously, we all have a lot to thank these incredible men and women for.
