"It's a marathon not a sprint!" 

As a Traumatic brain Injury nurse specialist, this is my favourite phrase to describe a lengthy recovery from brain injury. Yet, I have never run a marathon!

This year, I am taking on a challenge to run a marathon in October- the TCS London marathon 2022 for the Oxford Hospitals Charity! I am hoping that all the funds raised will go to the neurosciences department and the major trauma centre, where most of my patients are cared for. It is my wish that the funds would transform patients' experience and support their recovery through new equipment and staff education etc.
