Story

CVM Ireland are proud to be a part of the wider CVM family, but in 2017, CVM Ireland became independent of the UK; a new company, a new charity, a new board of Directors - everything! It's vital that fund raising continues in order to support the work here in Ireland and that why I'm doing this...

I would love for you to get behind me in helping me to reach my goal! Every little helps!

Thanks! :D

Why CVM?

A few years ago, 'Sorted' magazine did a street survey, the results showing that in the UK, men think Christianity is for wimps, for women and is irrelevant. Men are more comfortable walking into a woman's underwear shop than what they are a church. A report commissioned by Tearfund, states that if trends continue, men will have all but left the church by 2030 and that 75% of men in the UK are antagonistic or apathetic towards church. Another study stated teenagers are more likely now to own a smartphone than live with their fathers. Suicide is also the most common cause of death for men under the age of 50.

CVM want to change these statistics. They are seeking to be a positive force in reaching men and changing lives.

What does CVM do?

CVM Ireland's main aim to connect men to Jesus and the Church to men. They partner with local churches, assisting them in their goal of winning men to Christ through specific training. Men need to be in a "band of brothers," so starting local mens groups are a great why of achieving that. Doing stuff together; shooting, running, swimming, cycling, climbing, watching movies and eating food, is how men typically engage with each other and this is how CVM works too. They host events, and men's days such as Rugby Tours, curry nights and mens conferences to bring men together and introduce them to Jesus.
