Story
St Christophers Hospice is a charity which provides the highest standards of support and end of life care. They are more than just a hospice. They are proud of their community programmes that offers practical, emotional and spiritual support to over 7,500 people, across 5 boroughs of London. As well as providing education and training to 31 other countries.Despite the recent challenges, their amazing nurses have been working harder than ever to provide the very best care, which is only made possible by the generous support of people like you kindly donating to their work.
Robin and I (Libby) travelled to St Christophers Hospice in early March, both slightly terrified of what to find once there and in silent anticipation of what was a last car journey through South London together.
From entering there was such warmth, care and compassion and for the next 80 days that Robin was in their care. Robin would refer to the staff looking after him as his guardian angels (Patrick, his Irish angel) and we will be forever grateful for their patience, expertise, time and support. St Christophers, Sydenham is somewhere we never wanted to go, but will always now be remembered as a very, very special place that supported our family, and especially Robin when we needed them the most.
Robins funeral was held on Friday 17th June, 2022. The absolute least we can now do is put on our running shoes. Libby trained and ran the Royal Parks half marathon in London in memory of her big brother Robin and Nick is now running the Beach Head marathon on 22nd October to hopefully get up to £2500.
Robin, you will never be forgotten, will always in our hearts and hopefully you are now flying high in paradise and looking out for us all from above.
