Story
When I was 30 I was diagnosed with Peripheral T Cell Lymphoma. I had a lot of chemo including high dose therapy with a stem cell transplant. My day zero was 19th April 2012 and I'm happy to report I've been cancer free and pretty healthy ever since. So, what better way to mark a ten year anniversary than a really long run to help a really worthwhile charity.
During my treatment a lot of the information that I was given was published by Lymphoma Action and I now volunteer for the charity as a buddy. The buddy system is a support network of people that volunteer their time to support others that may be in similar situations. From my own experience I can say that it is extremely helpful to speak to someone that has been through what you have and can explain things to you in a way that perhaps doctors and nurses cannot.
Lymphoma Action is UK's only charity dedicated to lymphoma, the 5th most common cancer. They have been providing in-depth, expert information for over 35 years, helping thousands of people affected by lymphoma. Their mission is to make sure no one faces lymphoma alone.
Please donate a little or as much as you want, every penny will make a real difference.
