Virgin London Marathon 2011 · 17 April 2011 ·

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

In April 2011 I will be running the London Marathon, something I thought about doing on several occasions but had never been confident/motivated enough to have a go at until now !!!

My mother-in-law Jean was diagnosed with Alzheimers in July 2009 and not knowing much about this terrible disease I soon learned !!Watching a wonderful lady deteriorate over the last 18 months has been heartbreaking and I felt I needed to do something to help this charity with ongoing research into this awful disease whilst at the same time running for Jean who sadly passed away on New Years Eve.

Please, please help me raise as much money for the charity as possible, every donation no matter how small will be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks for your help Laura.
