In Summer 2014 I started to grow my hair as part of a two-part challenge to raise funds for New Hope. It is now just past my shoulder blades (Feb 2016).

The disabled children New Hope support are amazing but life can be challenging for them due to their disabilities.

This second part of my challenge will be over in a few minutes but life for the disabled children New Hope will always be challenging. I hope from undertaking this challenge the funds raised will go towards fun activities for the children such as hydrotherapy, horse therapy and visits from such as Animalmania, Juggling Jim, etc. These activities allow the children to enjoy the same things as their non-disabled peers do, whilst they are being supported & enabled to participate by the friendly, supportive staff. Whilst the children are with New Hope their parent/carers can have regular meaningful breaks from their caring responsibilities.

If I raise more than my target this will go towards repeating the successful Carer's Christmas Lunch that was held last year. This was an opportunity for our amazing parent/carers to have a tasty Christmas lunch in a relaxing environment and socialise with others who understood.
