Story
Hello!
If you don't already know us all, the staff at the Liverpool Cancer Trials Unit (LCTU) are a friendly bunch, and we all like to get involved with fundraising for Cancer Research UK, and to raise awareness of our work here in Liverpool.
One idiotic Trial Co-ordinator (ahem, Rob) recently had the idea to complete the Yorkshire 3 peaks; walk 24 miles and climb the 3 mountains of Whernside, Ingleborough and Pen-Y-Ghent (all about 700m high) in less that 12 hours, and so, our next challenge was set!
A group of us will attempt (and succeed) to do this on Saturday 18th August. Any donations are greatly appreciated.
If anyone fancies joining us on this long walk, just let us know - the more the merrier!
Read on for more info about what we do..............
The LCTU manages clinical trials of cancer medicines (www.lctu.org.uk). To cut a long story short, we support research into new medicines (or new combinations of medicines) for cancer patients across the UK (and further afield in some cases!).
Supporting such research is not cheap - we rely heavily on Cancer Research UK funding which in turn relies upon charitable donations from the public.
