Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit out JustGiving page.

As a team of myself, Mike and Nigel, we have decided to challenge ourselves to cycle the Lands End to John o’Groats (LEJOG), route totalling 1000 miles to raise funds for a cancer charity called AMMF.

The charity helps people with a relatively rare cancer called cholangiocarcinoma (bile duct cancer). It is also known as the silent killer as when you do get symptoms it’s too late to be cured and sadly has a life expectancy of a few months.

The AMMF charity is trying to find new drugs, therapies and run clinical trials to find a cure.

In December 2020 my family were devastated to find out that my wife Julie had been diagnosed with bile duct cancer and sadly passed away nine months later. Julie enjoyed cycling and wanted to do the LEJOG as a holiday.

Myself and family friends, Mike and Nigel are going to give this challenge a go and cycle the LEJOG and hopefully raise some funds, so that ongoing trials by the AMMF charity could hopefully someday find a cure.

Donations of any size would be greatly appreciated to support this fantastic cause.

Thank you,

Steve Hunter, Mike Hodgson, Nigel Butler
