We rescue, rehabilitate and rehome animals to improve their welfare and lives

Thank you for visiting the LSPCA JustGiving page.

Lilongwe Society for the Protection and Care of Animals is Malawi's first animal welfare charity caring for dogs, cats, farm animals and wildlife. We work closely with the local community to run free veterinary clinics for rabies vaccination, spaying and neutering and to care for farm animals. There are very few vets in Malawi so our clinics provide life-saving treatment for many animals.

We visit schools twice a week to teach children how to look after their dogs and farm animals. Our foster and adoption scheme provides wonderful 'forever' homes for abandoned animals.

We work closely with the government vets and the police to investigate cases of animal cruelty. We educated owners on how to care for their animals, and in severe cases we support the police to take animal cruelty prosecutions.

We are also working with the government wildlife department to stop wildlife poaching and the smuggling of elephant ivory and rhino horn in Malawi.

Here's how your donation will help:

£5 will buy colour posters on dog and farm animal care for a local school

£10 will vaccinate over 600 village chickens which are vital to low-income communities

£20 will help us to rescue and provide emergency veterinary care for an abandoned animal

£50 will fund our mobile veterinary clinic for a whole day, treating animals in desperate need of veterinary care

£100 will support our investigation and prosecution team for a whole month to investigate cases of animal cruelty, educate the owners and where necessary take prosecutions to court

RSPCA is kindly helping us with the administration of all funds raised and will send 100% of all donations straight to the LSPCA in Malawi.

JustGiving – they’ll never send you unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to us and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - LSPCA raises more, whilst saving time and cutting costs.

We can save many more animals with your help and will be happy to keep you updated on our work if you include your email address when you donate.
