Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In October 2017 I will be part of a team of 40 climbers who will be tackling Mount Kilimanjaro to raise funds and awareness for The Christie Manchester, the Rugby League Benevolent Fund and the Steve Prescott Foundation (SPF) Special Causes Fund.

The challenge will also see us attempt to enter the Guinness Book of World Records by playing the highest game of football ever.

At 5895 metres (19,341 feet) tall, Mount Kilimanjaro is located in Tanzania, East Africa just south of the border with Kenya. It is the highest free-standing mountain in the world. It is a dormant volcano which last erupted 360,000 yrs ago.

I was fortunate to know Steve through work at Hull FC and was always taken by his great humour and sheer professionalism. In his later years I witnessed him embark on the most incredible displays of courage and determination all for the sake of others.
