Thanks for taking the time to visit my just giving page!
My name is Laura and I've been through a lot more than your avarage 27 year old. At the age of 2 I was diagnosed with cancer of the kidney and had to have them removed resulting in me having to have three (yes three kidney transplants) and dialysis twice. My most recent one was 13 years ago and things were going swimmingly. I've met my gorgeous fiancé, we brought our own house last October, and we were due to get married in September of this year. However my life was turned upside down in February when out of the blue i woke up one morning in agony this lasted for five weeks and could hardly walk. After several trips to the doctors and A&E they sent me for a scan which highlighted a 14cm mass in my pelvic area. I ended up having to have test after test until the doctors told us the devastating news that it was lymphoma, cancer of the lymphatic system. I've been told that I will have to have nearly 5 months of chemotherapy and possibly radiotherapy after that, this should hopefully cure me. This means that we've had to postpone our wedding as I won't be well enough in September. However I've decided that because I'm going to lose my hair anyway due to the side effects of the chemotherapy, instead I will shave it off and raise some money for cancer research in the process, so at least some good will come of it!
Thanks for reading my story and please give what you can as every little helps 😊
