Story
I am taking on this challenge to raise money and awareness for a charity I have been personally involved in for the past 5 years . The Chernobyl Children’s lifeline, Wirral link.
The charity brings children over to the Wirral from the poorest areas of Belarus and gives them a break from the contamination the Chernobyl disaster caused . The effects of which families are still suffering from to this day.
I have myself hosted children and seen what a life changing experience this is for them. The charity provides them with a full itinerary of days out, they also get free eye tests and glasses if needed and a trip to the dentist and any work needed is carried out while they are here as many of the children don’t have access to a dentist at home.
I have also been lucky enough to visit the areas the children are from on Belarus and seen first hand some of the poorest conditions these children are living in.
It costs £400 to bring one child over for 4 weeks and I hope to be able to raise enough money for 2 children to be brought over in the summer of 2020.
