Story
On the weekend of 27/28th February 2010, I will be taking part in "I'm a Banker - Get me out of Here!!!". This is all in aid of the Little Havens Childrens Hospice, a charity based in Rayleigh, Essex.
The weekend will comprise of helping to plant new hedges within the Hospice grounds, renovation and updating of the car park areas, assembling a canopy at the entrance to the Hospice and helping to organise a party for the children and their siblings with fancy dress, face painting and entertainment. This is just a small example of what we will be doing in order to raise money for this worthwhile cause. We will also be spending the night at the hospice, based in a Marquee in the grounds.
The Little Havens Childrens Hospice provides respite and end-of-life care for life-limited children and their families from across Essex and some areas of London. It also helps to provide a home respite service called EPIC which allows a child to be cared for in their own home. This could not continue without kind donations as it costs £2.3 million each year to keep the hospice open.
Little Havens officially opened in March 1998 and since then has cared for over 1,000 children and offered vital support to their siblings and families.
The love and care provided by the Care Team at the hospice is complete free of charge.
