Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Please help me to raise funds in memory of my son Jonny  in the month of October.

My world ended when I lost my son. I have never been able to face the month of October since Jonny's death as both Jonny's birthday and anniversary fall 1week and 6days apart.

Jonny passed on 24th October 2017 the day I lost not only him but also myself 💔 my world changed forever in a dark sense of the word as I suffered disassociation depression and breakdown.

This year I would love that to be different in memory of my son as his short life was one that should be remembered with joy and not sadness.

Everyday without Jonny is a constant battle. Now is the time to push through the pain and do something good in honour of him.

This charity is different from the rest as it's a place of safety where if words fail hearts understand.

Help me achieve those new memories life denied by claiming the life of our precious child.

Jonny was a kind loving popular hero in his own right.

He put others before himself and loved seeing people happy.  So let's give a little back in memory of him 😊

Together we can keep the memory of his love alive 🌟🦋🌈💙🕊️👼

About the charity

Anam Cara is a national organisation founded by bereaved parents. We provide a range of bereavement support services throughout the 32 counties. More importantly, we offer peer support and understanding to families who have experienced the death of a child. Each year in Ireland about two thousand families experience the death of a son or daughter. For some, the death may have been expected through illness or a life-limiting condition. For others, it was unexpected through stillbirth, an accident, suicide or substance abuse. Anam Cara’s online and face to face services are available to all parents regardless of age or circumstances of their child’s death and are available for as long as necessary. At Anam Cara we focus on the similarities of our loss rather than the differences and provide a level of support and understanding that others cannot offer. Our bereavement as parents unites us. Anam Cara currently has nine active local groups meeting regularly throughout the country. All Anam Cara services are offered free of charge to bereaved parents and families, and as we do not receive government funding, we rely heavily on public fundraising to fund the costs of our local groups and events. We are hugely grateful to any support you can give us. Thank you!
