Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As some of you are aware I sadly lost my dad, my hero, to a rare Brain Tumour on Christmas Eve 2019. Despite being diagnosed with an Oligiodendroglioma in 1994 and given just 5 years to live he continued to fight and survive for over 25 years. Over those 25 years he underwent radiotherapy, surgery and two rounds of chemotherapy in order to fight this awful disease that would not go away and kept coming back. It left him needing to take various concoctions of drugs on a daily basis and with epilepsy that resulted in frequent fits of various levels of intensity. Through all of this he never once complained, stopped it from living his life to the fullest and being the strongest person I will ever know.
I always used to run and my dad was always asking when my next race would be or when I would try for my first half marathon. I wish he was here to see me finally do one but I know he'll be watching over me and I hope I make him as proud as he made me every day.
Brain Tumours are indiscriminate and can affect anyone at any age. What's more they kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer. Yet only 1% of the national spend on cancer research is allocated to this devastating disease. The Brain Tumour Research Charity are the only UK focused charity that focuses on finding a cure for all types of Brain Tumours and we hope one day we will be able to cure this disease.
I know times are hard for everyone right now and that includes charities. So however much you can help no amount is a small amount and it would all be greatly appreciated.
