Since we started our fundraising for our trek, I've had a few people ask me questions about my pregnancy and birth with Ayla. And I'm afraid to say before we had Ayla, I didn't know much about Down's syndrome. I didn't know much about it because it didn't affect me... well we want to change that! We want to raise awareness about Down's syndrome and that it IS ok and we also want to raise money for this fabulous charity that's helped me so much since our wee Ayla was born!
We knew we had a 1 in 4 chance of Ayla having Downs Syndrome and that didn't phase us, we just accepted it. We chose not to have any intrusive tests to confirm it. As soon as Ayla was born I could tell instantly that she had Down's syndrome. We are so very lucky that Ayla doesn't have any major health problems, and for anyone who knows Ayla, you'll know that she's such a happy girl who loves Peppa Pig, dancing and crisps! And as a family we feel truly blessed that she's ours. Our wee Ayla!
So to continue with our fundraising we've bitten off a biggy!! Myself, Vicky and Jessica are trekking The Great Wall of China!!! Eek!!! We set off on May 12th 2018 and we trek for 9 days! We've got a lot to raise so we're planning lots of events over the next year that we hope you will all support us with and be part of. X
