Story
Thank you for taking your time to look at my fundraising page. In March I will be taking part in a half marathon raising money for my chosen charity Romanian Rescue Appeal.
This is a UK based charity who rescue dogs who have been horrifically abused, neglected, abandoned or have been placed in horrendous public shelter where dogs are left to starve and suffer in appalling conditions and some are murdered inhumanly in Romania.
They currently have 3 shelters and around 1000 dogs that need food, vet care, warm kennels and help with re-homing and this relies on public donations only.
As a dog groomer I have many customers rescued from Romania and the stories I have heard of what they have been through are horrifying (even some that have had body parts axed off and others that have been kept in a small cage for a number of years). I would really appreciate even the smallest donation to this charity as every penny helps.
Please see below a news article (which contains some upsetting images) to show what it’s like in Romania and how the charity help:
I have never done any running event and will be training very hard to achieve this. Thank you so much, this means so much to me!!

About the Charity:
We rescue injured, starving and homeless dogs in Romania from a life of suffering on the streets and from death in the barbaric public shelters
We have so far rescued over 1400 dogs and continue to save as many as we can with very little funding
We run three private shelters in Romania, providing food, kennel space, veterinary treatment and a warm, safe environment for our dogs until they can be adopted
We search for loving forever homes for our dogs, mainly finding homes for them in the UK
We raise awareness to the general public of the terrible cruelty suffered by dogs in Romania and promote humane behaviour towards the dogs.
Founder Lindsey Church became involved in Romanian rescue after seeing a post on social media about a large number of dogs that were being massacred in a public shelter. Prior to this she would close her eyes and ears to pictures and stories of animal abuse, only so that she could sleep at night and not be haunted by faces of pain and desperation. Lindsey started to look at the pictures of abuse and research the situation of the voiceless dogs in Romania. Lindsey founded Romanian Rescue Appeal in March 2014.
