London Marathon 2024 · 21 April 2024 ·
I used to hate running. In fact, I said for years that I would never run a marathon. But on April 21, 2024, I will run my second marathon, the TCS London Marathon.
Last April, I ran my first marathon in Louisville, Kentucky. The whole process of training and running the race was very impactful; however, I didn't think I would run another one so soon. When the opportunity to run the London Marathon for Samaritan's Purse came up, I was overjoyed. Getting to combine running, and supporting a cause like the World Medical Mission Post-Residency Program is such a dream. I am honored and humbled to get to participate in this race.
The World Medical Mission Post-Residency Program is close to my heart. My family has close friends who are medical missionaries and growing up my sister and I got to hear their stories and learn of the impact they were making. I desire that more medical missionaries would have the opportunity to follow the call that the Lord has placed on their life.
The Post-Residency Program is a two-year program that funds Christian physicians and dentists who have been called to a career in medical missions. Immediately following their residency, Samaritan's Purse places them at a mission hospital where they serve within their specialty. I want to help raise money to support this program, as Samaritan's Purse provides logistical and financial support while they serve alongside career medical missionaries. This program is training up the next generation of medical missionaries who will go on to change countless lives not only through physical healing but also through the Gospel.
