Just making the final checks on all our bags/kit ready to set off to Exmouth tomorrow!! Please keep checking the page for updates on our progress...

Thanks for taking time to visit our Justgiving page!!

Some of you will know, but others will not, that I have suffered with Epilepsy for around 16 years now. During this time I have always had great support from The Epilepsy Society based in Chalfont St Peter, and without the constant care and attention they offer, we would not been able to have our 3 children without the risk to me or them during and after pregnancy. This year it is their 120th Anniversary, and as is so often the case they are desperately short of funding.

They need support from as many people as possible to raise money to complete the building of a new Research Centre. The majority of Epilepsy sufferers can only be offered medication to try to control their seizures, as there is generally no known cure for the condition.

For this reason, Gareth and I have taken it upon ourselves to try to give something back to them, and have decided to try and raise whatever we can to help the cause, by walking 120 miles from Exmouth to Bournemouth along the Jurassic Coastline. We will complete the majority this over 4 days starting on 21st August, camping along the way, with the 5th and final day to be a "fun walk/roller skate" from Swanage to Bournemouth with as many of our friends and family as possible, hopefully all in fancy dress!!!

On each of the first 4 days we will average 26 miles of walking/climbing across some particularly daunting coastline. Not something we are comfortable with, and I am not looking forward to pitching a tent every night! However we really want to push ourselves to do this, and would greatly appreciate any donations you could give to help us along the way. We have begun training and will update our progress and preparations each month.

In fact if any of you would like to join us for the last leg on Saturday 25th August (bank holiday weekend), we would be delighted to see as many friendly faces as possible. Please let us know and we will send you the details.

Thanks so much to you all xx

26th March:- We have now planned out our full route for the trek, and plan to visit Bournemouth during the Easter period. When we are there we will be planning more details for the Saturday "Event", so will send more details out to those that are going to be involved in due course.

We are now well into May and are stepping up the training in preparation. All overnight stops/camp sites are organised and we will be in Bournemouth again on 19th to finalise the details for the Saturday. We will then make all the required arrangments and look forward to seeing as many as possible down there!!
