Island 2 Island · 1 June 2019
Every year we swim outdoors somewhere in the UK and on June 1st this year we will be in the Scottish waters. I’ll be swimming 3.8k from Isle of Arran to Isle of Holy and back again. Inspired by my incredible cousin Sophie Worthington, we are raising funds and awareness for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust who work tirelessly researching new treatments and trying to better the lives on those with CF.
Anything you donate will go straight to the Trust and will spur all of us on whilst in the chilly open sea. I’ll be swimming alongside aunties, cousins, wonderful friends and lots of other water pals. We will need some neeps n tatties and a hot toddy at the end to warm up!
Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a life-limiting genetic condition affecting more than 10,000 people across the UK. It affects the lungs and digestive system and can cause chronic infections and reduced lung function. Currently, half of those with CF will not live past age 41.The Cystic Fibrosis Trust is fighting for a brighter future for people with CF and their families by funding cutting-edge research, driving up standards of care and supporting people with the condition and their loved ones every step of the way.
Thank you for your time and support, Lauren
