Well, I've just got home and am about to climb into the bath but thought I would update my site before I do. 

What a day!  I don't think I've ever seen quite so many people in shorts.

As you know I donated a case of wine to the person who guessed closest to my finishing time. My official finishing time was 1:50.56 and the closest guess was 1:50.00.  So the case of wine goes to Lynne Brown (who also happens to be my mum!).

When You Wish Upon A Star is an extremely deserving charity and one that I am very proud to have helped over the last few years.  The charity helps to fulfil the wishes of children with life limiting conditions.

For reasons that I can't quite remember I agreed to run the Great North Run this year to try and raise as much money as possible for them.

But this is fund raising with a twist!  I'm not just asking for sponsorship.  Oh no! 

I am personally providing a case of wine as a prize for the person who comes closest to guessing the time I take to complete the course!

 

It works like this: 

You donate a sum of money (don't forget to register for Gift Aid as this increases the amount).

You leave a motivating, witty, amusing or insulting comment when prompted.  At the same time you put down the time you think I will take on the course - in hours, minutes and seconds.

I run, walk or even crawl the 13.1 miles on 19th September and make a note of the OFFICIAL time as I cross the finish line.

I then trawl through the dozens (if not hundreds!!!) of people that have made donations and guessed a time to find who was closest.

A case of wine then arrives on their doorstep.

The charity gets a load of cash to carry on their great work.
