I am the Watford FC CSE Trusts first ever representative to take part in the London Marathon.

People ask why I am running for the Watford FC CSE Trust, well there are many reasons. The excellent work they do in the community has touched my family, thanks to their coaching courses my son has been able to have the opportunity to take part in team sports, he comes away feeling like a £10m player when at school his confidence is severely knocked and inclusion isn't something that bothers them.

When my marriage ended  I had to adjust to finding things to do with my son with noone else around, it might sound silly but in reality adjusting to his new life and keeping someone so young entertained can be difficult. The trusts coaching events aswell as a friend recommending a family open day at the Vic gave us both initially somewhere to go on a Saturday afternoon, his love of Harry the Hornet and hotdogs grew into an interest in the score and the players and before we knew it he refused to miss a game, we've now been season ticket holders for 5 years and I am so grateful of the way Watford welcome families to the games providing a safe atmosphere for children to get into watching football. 

By running the London Marathon for the Watford FC CSE trust I'm hoping that they can continue to engage with more local children who aren't able to take part in team sports within their school, develop their social skills and confidence through sport and see that engagement grow into support for their local club.
