Having completed numerous Ironman Triathlons and marathons and after significantly breaking multiple bones in my foot in 2018 (and being advised that it would be highly doubtful I would walk properly again) I thought it was time for a new challenge!
Failing the 2022 event with a chest infection, I’m returning to the Sahara to complete unfinished business!
The Marathon Des Sables is a self-supported, multi stage race in the Moroccan Sahara Desert that takes place in late April 2023 with temperatures up to 40 degrees and with stage lengths up to 50 miles!
For those of you that know me, you’ll know this event has been on my ‘bucket list’ for years but is the biggest physical challenge I’ve faced!

There are almost 14 million disabled people in the UK, that’s one in five of us. Life is harder when you’re disabled. You're twice as likely to be unemployed, getting care is a struggle and the cost of living is higher. It’s wrong.

So I'm fundraising for Scope to create a fairer society. And we won’t stop until we have everyday equality. At home, at school, at work and in our communities.
