The Marsden March 2014 · 16 March 2014 ·

We raise money to improve the lives of people affected by cancer. From funding state-of-the-art equipment and groundbreaking research, to creating the very best patient environments, we will never stop looking for ways to improve the lives of people affected by cancer.

Story

As many of you are aware we lost a good friend and colleague, Les Williams, in November to cancer.  In his memory Rand and Sarah are taking part in the Marsden March on 16th March, a 14 mile walk between the Royal Marsden Hospital in Chelsea and the Royal Marsden Hospital in Sutton.  We are planning to do this in under 4 hours.

Raising money for the Royal Marsden Charity will, amongst other funds, enable Professor Chris Nutting (who treated Les) to further his research into increasing cure rates and reduce side effects of treatment through computer controlled focussed cancer treatments. Les was one of the first patients in the UK to receive this treatment to his eye, and we want to help Prof Nutting to develop this further and support all the other great work the Royal Marsden does.

We would be grateful for any donation and please feel free to leave your favourite or funny memory of Les
