Story
Firstly can I just say a really big thank you for taking the time to visit this page and for your support in helping my through my most challenging journey, … the London Marathon. I would be so greatful for any donations that come in, however much you choose, every single penny will be donated to such an amazing local charity.
Everyone will know somebody who has had to deal with Cancer, and Mary Ann Evans are there to support you and your family every step of the way. Back in March 1998 my grandad was diagnosed with lung cancer and sadly passed away in July 1999. Whilst dealing with his diagnosis he would visit the day centre to talk with support workers and share his feelings and emotions and the team were an amazing support to him during this time. They would even allow him a little shot of whiskey during his visit, which definitely made him enjoy his time their even more. After he passed away family, and in particular my Grandma, Mum and Aunty, have always continue to support the hospice whenever they can. This has included taking part in remembrance events, supporting the lotteries/raffles, and other fund raising to help the charity grow and continue to support other families in their time of need.
Now in 2023 my wife is a volunteer there and is part of their Bereavement Support Team helping people who have recently lost a loved one. She is part of a wonderful team there and really sees the hard work that goes in to running the Hospice on a daily basis.
