Story

Liam Wetherfield, Simon Yates, Harry Carton & Ricardo Paz are partaking in the Struggle Events ' Struggle Dales' cycle on Sunday 23rd May 2021 with colleagues & friends which is 108 miles long, taking in 9430ft over seven climbs set within North Yorkshire’s stunning scenery along the region’s best cycling roads.

We are doing this ride in memory Liam Wetherfield's Grandad, Alan Wetherfield who sadly left us last year and to give back we are raising money for The Sussex Cancer Fund as a way to say thanks for all the years of care and help that was given to my grandad.

We have chosen the Sussex Cancer Fund as this is a local charity where we're able to nominate the day unit that Liams Grandad, Alan Wetherfield used to have treatment which means a great deal to Liam and his family.

"We were unable to give him the send-off he truly deserved, therefore, calling everyone who knew him to donate to this fund and pay their respects to the individuals who dedicate their lives to helping people in need of their services, even more so now than ever with the industry-wide lack of donations due to the impact that COVID has had on peoples personal lives, if you can spare as little as £1 please do, as every penny really does count. Those that knew him would understand he was all about giving, he cared so much for everyone in his life, even the people in the hospital who I’m sure will see the benefits of these donations in some way shape or form." - Liam
