Lilies are doing the Triple for John Taylor Hospice

Birmingham International Marathon 2017 · 15 October 2017 ·
Lilies’ are doing the Triple for John Taylor Hospice – running
a combined 34.7 miles and a 150ft abseil
Lee Solomon from Lilies Funeral Directors is taking part in
3 huge events to raise money for John Taylor Hospice, a charity very close to
his heart.
The 3 events are;
Lee started his Marathon training this weekend and a lot
more has to be done if he has any chance of finishing the 26.2 mile course,
completing the Birmingham Half Marathon last year was the furthest he had ever
ran before so doubling the distance this year will be a challenging test for
him.
The Great Midlands Fun Run is held in Sutton Coldfield on
Sunday 4th June 2017, the route goes through the town and into
Sutton Park and then finishing in Sutton Coldfield Town Centre. The route
contains the dreaded ‘Cardiac Hill’ which tests most runners, so if you see him
on the route please give Lee cheers of encouragement.
The 150ft Abseil down the Park Regis Hotel in Birmingham is
being set up by John Taylor Hospice, leaning over the side of such a tall
building backwards will be a scary moment but it will be worth it for charity! The
Abseil will be something not many people will have done so if you are available
please join using this link: https://www.johntaylorhospice.org.uk/get-involved/join-an-event/393-ready-for-the-drop
Finally, the largest, most daunting and hardest thing Lee
will have ever put himself through, the Birmingham International Marathon. Lee
has never ran such a distance before, he is doing this for John Taylor Hospice
because he sees what the JTH staff do and the help they give to their patients and
their families. He will need as much support as possible to get him through the
dreaded 26.2 miles, if you are in Birmingham on the day please give your
support to Lee, if you can’t then please show it via donations on the link
below – he needs all the encouragement he can get!
Lee and Lilies Funeral Directors works very closely with
John Taylor Hospice through volunteer work and trying to raise as much money as
possible for the Hospice, Lee and other members of the team at Lilies have had
family members receive care from the different teams at John Taylor and he
hopes his work can contribute to helping the amazing staff deliver the
outstanding level of service they provide.
If you can afford to, please give generously via the link
