Hi I'm Lillie, I'm 14 years old and I am going to complete a 100 mile paddle in 4 days along the River Wye.
On January the 7th 2017 I was woken up by the most scariest news I had ever heard, that my amazing grandad had taken himself to queens hospital with pains across his chest. After numerous tests I received the devastating news that my grandad had suffered a heart attack. From that moment on my life had changed and I quickly realised how easy it could've been to of lost him.
My grandad was transferred to the cardiac catheterisation suite at St. Bartholomew's hospital in London where we were greeted by the most amazing staff we had ever met, the staff on the suite we caring, understanding and always there to reassure us that they would take the best of care of him.
When I kissed my grandad goodbye before they took him down to have an angiogram, my heart sank for the second time, every part of me was crossed and I couldn't wait to be back in his arms again.
We finally got the news that one of his arteries was 99% blocked, the second was 75% blocked and the third was narrowing but the amazing consultant told us he had put 2 stents in and that he was a very lucky man. Without the help and support of the staff at St. Bartholomew's it could have be a life changing out come.
I would like to raise as much money as possible and donate the whole amount to this outstanding suite because every little girl no matter how old they are need their grandad in the life.
