Our beautiful daughter Lilly West was born 11 weeks early on 13th August 2022, but sadly due to underdeveloped lungs and being born with an infection, she only lived for a few hours. We will be forever grateful that we got to spend a few hours cuddling our baby girl before she went to sleep and they are memories we will cherish forever.

Tommy's believe research can save babies’ lives and improve care and support for families at every stage of the pregnancy journey. Their mission as a charity organisation is to make the UK the safest place to give birth, halving the number of babies who die in pregnancy and birth by 2030. In the UK, it is estimated that 1 in 4 pregnancies end in loss during pregnancy or birth and 60,000 babies are born prematurely each year. As a charity for premature babies and those who have experienced baby loss, they research causes and treatments so that they can make pregnancy and birth safer for all. 

When we fell pregnant, we never imagined that we wouldn't get our happy ending. We are devastated that we won't get to watch our little girl grow up, but we are determined to make sure that people know Lilly's name and hope that by fundraising for Tommy's, we can help to ensure other families don't have the same experience that we did.
