Lily Ryder – “the girl with the very long hair” – has decided that the time has come to cut it!   It’s a big decision when your hair is almost long enough to sit on, and has been for most of your life – but her decision is made, as is the decision to make this a sponsored event and raise money for Charity.

The hair itself will be donated to THE LITTLE PRINCESS TRUST, a wonderful Charity that provides real hair wigs to boys and girls across the UK and Ireland, who have sadly lost their own hair through cancer treatment.  Lily will be able to provide them with at least 12 inches of her hair and that will make a lovely long hair wig for a little girl.

In addition, she wants to raise money for THE TEENAGE CANCER TRUST. charity number (1062559 England)  Did you know that 7 young people are diagnosed with Cancer every day in the UK?  That’s a hard-hitting fact that shocked Lily and so she has chosen to support this charity that helps people her own age facing such difficult times.

When is the haircut?  Not before Common Entrance….just in case the weightlessness affects her brain!  It will be cut before the end of term, and I am working on a plan to get it cut in school so she can have friends and supporters around her.
