Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I was diagnosed with breast cancer following a routine mammogram in April last year. No-one expects it to happen to them, me least of all, but it did and I survived. I won't lie, it has been a tough year which started with a mastectomy, then 6 rounds of chemotherapy and finally 3 weeks of radiotherapy which finished just before Christmas.
The support of my family and friends has been incredible but I am also thankful to my employer of 32 years, Kendall Kingscott Limited, who helped me through the most difficult time of my life. I consider myself a strong person and I made the choice very early in this journey that I would continue to live my life as fully as possible and still be me! The chemo wasn't as horrific as I had anticipated and I was fortunate that I was able to cope with the side effects pretty well, enabling me to continue working, albeit sometimes from home.
I was delighted when KK announced their idea for a fundraiser for staff to complete as many circuits of Castle Combe race track as possible by human powered means - mine is good old fashioned shanks' pony. One circuit is 1.85 miles and my aim is to complete at least 3 laps. The company's target is to raise in excess of £5,000 for this very worthy charity and you can read more about this on https://www.justgiving.com/Kendall-Kingscott
Thank you for taking the time to read my story and I would be delighted if you are able to support me.
