As a nursing sister in the Emergency Department I see the exceptional care the Royal Surrey provides to patients across Surrey everyday.

Away from my professional life, the Royal Surrey has looked after my family and I too. When my Mother-in-law, Maureen, died at the Royal Surrey in 2020, the nursing care she received was excellent. In addition to provide great clinical care, all the nursing teams were warm, welcoming and so very, very kind - even in the midst of a global pandemic.

I was unfortunate enough to be unwell with pneumonia at the end of last year, and ended up in the Emergency Department as a patient! This unplanned 'role-reversal' reminded me just how brilliant the whole Emergency Care team is at the Royal Surrey, fast, efficient, and so caring despite the enormous pressures they work under. 

The Royal Surrey charity works to support this excellent care in a safe environment for all patients at the Royal Surrey Hospital. It works to provide cutting edge equipment, refurbish wards, invest in research, and support staff development and wellbeing projects.
