Royal Parks Half Marathon 2019 · 13 October 2019 ·

Founded following the death in 2018 of Tommy Crush, 17, we support existing UK charities to directly benefit children and young people aged vulnerable to suicide. Office of National Statistics (ONS) data shows the number of teenage suicides in England and Wales increased by 67% between 2010-2017.

Story

I have had so much love and support since losing Tommy on 21st May 2018 and in his memory I set up the Tommy Crush foundation. Through the foundation I would like to be able to help as many teenagers and young adults as possible who may feel vulnerable to suicide through poor mental health  Tommy was a happy, fun, smart, handsome boy who had lots of friends and who was loved. He was not someone who looked lost, anxious, depressed or sad. This is why we need to raise awareness and show people that it’s not what is on the outside, it’s the bit we can’t see. I’ll be running the half marathon to show my love and appreciation to everyone who has supported me and my family and raise necessary funds and awareness to try and change the outcome for another young person who may be suffering in silence and to stop another family losing a son or daughter, brother or sister. . Every penny, a kind word, an act of love and just knowing someone out there can help will mean Tommy will not have left this world in vain. Thank you xx
