Bupa Great North Run 2011 · 18 September 2011 ·

Diabetes UK is the charity leading the fight against the UK's devastating and fastest growing health crisis, working to create a world where diabetes can do no harm. It’s a fight that involves all of us – sharing knowledge and taking diabetes on together. Join us.

Story

Back in January I had the great idea of signing myslef up to run the Bupa Great North Run in aid of Diabetes. Now with the day fast aproaching I am finding the idea of running England's greatest half marathon slightly alarming.

Diabetes UK is the charity for people with diabetes, their family, friends and carers. Their mission is to improve the lives of people with the condition and work towards a future without diabetes.

They are one of the largest patient organisations in Europe. Diabetes UK stand up for the interests of people with diabetes by campaigning for better standards of care. They are one of the largest funders in the UK of research into better treatments for diabetes and the search for a cure.

With your donations however big or small we can increase the awareness of diabetes along with its complications, fighting discrimination and caring for children and adults. Your help and support is greatly appreciated.

Many Thanks
