Story
Hello, thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I did it! Very lame (from the start really) but managed it in the end. Please don't ask for a time. Thanks everyone so much for your support. Lots of love
I'm going to be taking part in the Royal Parks Half Marathon in London on Sunday 11th October. I've run quite a few 10K over the last few years but this will be my first half marathon and it seems like a long way! Luckily I've just had two weeks in Queensland running on the lovely 4 mile beach in Port Douglas; it's been a bit of a shock coming back to tarmac, hills and rain in Scotland.
I'm doing the run for a human TB charity called TB Alert. You can find out more about TB alert by clicking on the link on this page. Having spent many years involved in the debate about bovine tuberculosis (M.bovis infection) in cattle and badgers I've met lots of inspirational people involved in TB work in both humans and animals. TB in people is mostly human TB (M.tuberculosis) in the developed world and has much more to do with environment, social issues and concurrent diseases than cattle and badgers. In developing countries M.bovis can also be a problem but can be avoided by pasteurising milk and meat inspection. TB alert work all over the world to improve awareness, diagnosis and treatment of the disease.
