Not cycling to work..... · 30 June 2020

Despite everything, Chester Zoo is still preventing extinction. From caring for 35,000 animals to helping conservation organisations across the world manage the impact of this crisis, our fight for wildlife will not stop!

Story

The gates may be closed, but Chester Zoo is still doing all it can to prevent extinction. From conservation at the zoo with 35,000 animals, to helping wildlife organisations across the world to manage the impact of this global crisis, Chester Zoo is determined not to let coronavirus stand in the way of its vital mission.

Just before the lockdown I bought a bike from the “cycle to work scheme”. As yet its sitting unused in our garage and so I’m going to cycle the 136 miles I would have cycled to work in June (if I had actually got round to cycling to work). My husband Nick is going to join me in the challenge too....and our daughter is going to cycle round the block 136 times, her challenge being she can't quite ride her bike yet!

At such a time of crisis and uncertainty for everyone, I have chosen to raise funds for Chester Zoo so they can use it where they need it most and continue to make their mission of preventing extinction a reality and ensure the survival of species for the future.Together, we can act for wildlife!
